Ray Bans

All summer long I've seen the wayfarer (or a similar style) on anyone who has recently invested in a pair of shades.
I've gotten a lot of comments on my Ray Bans which I got last Christmas. They are perfect! You'd never guess by simply looking at them that they fold. They fold at the lenses, at the mid-part of the arms, and into a compact shape. They are perfect for tossing into your purse instead of wearing them in your hair.
They are still available and you can get them here.
You're welcome.

Zara

I couldn't believe my eyes.
I was in our city's most 'trendy' mall when I came around the corner and saw the sign: ZARA. The bold letters made my heart skip a beat. Could it be true? Was it possible that after all of my complaining about the lack of decent stores, that we finally (FINALLY!) got one of my favorite stores? At that moment, I felt so lucky that I almost bought a lottery ticket.
Zara hasn't opened its doors just yet. Below those beautiful bold letters was the usual "coming soon" line that dances throughout any (obsessive) shoppers mind after they've left the mall for weeks on end. And so, here I am; a week after my sighting and I can't stop thinking about it. I'll admit, it's almost pathetic to be so excited for a silly store opening, but when you travel three hours in the car to shop in a different city, it just so happens to be a big deal.
I think it's needless to say that I'll likely be posting about the actual opening of the store. So, until then...

TGIF!

The weekend is here!
Due to my recent move, I have come to the realization that I have a lot of clothes. So much in fact, that I need to do a seasonal cleansing (of the closet). As I already plan to switch my closet from S/S to F/W, I might as well take a good look at what I actually wear and rid my closet of the items that I don't-- and most likely won't ever wear again (even though that's very difficult to admit).
The move was refreshing--a new beginning-- and I hope that getting rid of the clothing that I no longer wear, will be equally satisfying.

I wonder if all of the extra space that will come of this cleanse will call for, say... a new fur vest?
Maybe?

Who's That Girl?

Who IS that girl? The one always dressed to perfection; she haunts me.
How does she 'do' nonchalant hair? I've always found it difficult to balance on the thin line in-between 'casual' and 'done'.
It's not just the hair. Oh no, it goes far beyond that. She knows her style-- she has a signature. Even when she's lounging at home--prepared for a surprise visit--still, she never ceases to amaze.
Once upon a time.

The Sartorialist

I've always been amused by the website that people set as their home page. I find it says a lot about the person or what their interests are outside of work. For quite some time now, my home page has been The Sartorialist. It's always enjoyable to turn on my computer in the morning and see what the rest of the world (or wherever Scott Schuman is traveling) is wearing. Scott has an eye for style and is always aware of the setting in which he shoots his subjects. Since he often attends the various fashion weeks throughout the year, he tends to come across those who dress with an avant garde flare and incorperate runway trends into their street style.
Pairing my morning tea with fashion and photography is the most enjoyable way to start a day. If you're not convinced, see for yourself here.
